GENERAL INFORMATION
Venue
The 8ILC will take place in Pirenópolis, one of the most charming towns in Goiás state.
Pirenópolis is surrounded by the unique and diverse flora of the Cerrado, the Brazilian savanna, and is known for the beautiful waterfalls that surround the town, being the perfect setting for nature lovers. The town, which was founded back in 1725 by gold miners, has numerous well-preserved colonial-era houses, churches, and is home to cultural festivals and typical countryside cuisine.
Winter (August) in Pirenópolis is dry and sunny, with temperatures normally ranging from 15˚ to 28˚ C.
The event will be hosted at the convention centre of the Pousada dos Pireneus, a colonial style hotel surrounded by lush nature. The event venue is within a ten-minute walk from the city centre where a variety of restaurants and shops can be found.
English will be official language of the conference. There will be no translation services.
Travel information and shuttle service
Delegates are advised to fly to the Brasilia International Airport, which is a major hub in Brazil that receives some flights from overseas.
A shuttle service organized by the 8ILC will be running from the Brasilia International Airport to Pirenópolis on the 5th and 6th August, and from Pirenópolis to Brasilia International Airport on the 12th August. Delegates interested in using this service should inform the organizing committee their flight details by email (8ilc.2023@gmail.com). A R$70 fee applies for each journey.
Visa information and Covid-19 restrictions
Foreign visitors may need a visa to come to Brazil.
